Final Open Meeting!!!! March 24th 2015

Galway Cycle 2015 is almost upon us, and the final open meeting for this year will take be held in the Iontas Building on the North Campus of Maynooth University at 7pm on Tuesday March 24th.  This will be the final opportunity before the cycle to present your mycharity donations, etc., as well as the time for everyone to collect their jerseys and hoodies.  There will also be a run through the itineraries and scheduling for the weekend, so we recommend all those coming along to attend.  This will also be the last opportunity to grab a hostel room with your mates (otherwise they will be randomly assigned).

Training Update – Final Mandatories – 9 AM start!

As GC 2015 is approaching ever more quickly, the training cycles are getting longer, so with that in mind, the training cycles this weekend will leave the South Campus gates at 9 AM instead of 10 AM previously.  This means you should be getting there at 8:30 AM to be ready to leave on time.

This weekend also sees the last of the mandatory cycles, so if you weren’t out last weekend, we need to see you there this weekend!  This is all the more important if you haven’t been out in the weeks before that, as the distances have been ramping up each week.  If you have any questions about the training, please contact training[at]galwaycycle.ie (replacing [at] with @), or send us a message on Facebook.

Dine in the Dark with Galway Cycle – March 7th, 2015

GCDineDark

On March 7th, Maynooth Students for Charity will host Dine In The Dark, a unique fundraiser for Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind’s Assistance Dog Programme, in the Glenroyal Hotel, Maynooth. Keeping in the theme of the charity, those who join us for the four course dinner will have the unique experience of dining from the perspective of a visually impaired person. Blindfolds will be provided, and you will be guided in how to eat while blindfolded by the host.

In addition to the dinner, entertainment will be provided by a Rory Gallagher tribute band, and DJ Aaron.

Tickets are available now from this event page, and are priced at €25 for students, and €30 for all others. Dress code is smart, so we look forward to seeing everyone there and looking sharp!!!

Even if you can’t attend, please consider donating to help the cause for which over 200 cyclists will cycle from Maynooth to Galway and back again at the end of March!
